Daisy Jones & The Six – Taylor Jenkins Reid

This book was unputdownable! I’d recommend this to almost anyone, but in particular if you’re trying to get back into reading.

It’s follows the rise and fall of a rock supergroup in the 70’s and includes all the sex and drugs that you’d expect from the era. It’s written in a documentary style, which I was a little unsure of going into but definitely got into, but I quickly got used to. As I tore through the book, I had to keep reminding myself that this wasn’t a real band and this was a work of fiction. On occasion I almost paused to Google something about the band before remembering it was all a work of fiction -d’oh! I was expecting a light pulpy read from this book and got so much more out of it.
